Inspired by lyrical themes of blasphemy, desecration, malevolence, and death, HELL TREPANNER creates turbulent and brutal compositions. Following the one-plus minute intro, “Profane Sacramentum,” HELL TREPANNER explodes with the first song proper, “Supremacy of Obscurity.” The raw and scathing sonority is a typical trait of South American death metal, with tempo changes and transitional riffs dictating the pace throughout the five-plus minute track. From there, tracks such as “Blaspheming in Primordial Tongues,” “From Perpetual Catacombs,” and “Barbaric Desecrator,” complete ‘The Consecration of Eternal Impurity’s ritualistic tone.
The album was recorded at Dragon Verde Studios and mixed and mastered at Sounds of Perseverance Studios, forging a rotted sound that is thick and gritty. “For this full-length, we demanded a pro-tier sound that matched the weight of the production,” Necromanza explains. “We chose Dragon Verde because it’s arguably the best studio in Lima; high-end gear, total focus, and constant guidance. This allowed us to lock in and execute our instruments with total precision, ensuring the result was potent, natural, and possessed a bestial, overwhelming heaviness.”
On signing with Awakening Records: “We have nothing but respect for Li Meng and Awakening Records,” Necromanza admits. “The offer caught us by surprise at first. I think he contacted us years ago during the pandemic, but we were focused on the previous EP then. By a twist of fate—and through Thrashirts—the deal was sealed to collaborate on this release.
