MSUO - 22 ORGANISMOS - Manejos Invisibles LP
ORGANISMOS Being brought up in the peak of the Colombian underground movement in the eighties is one of those grim enduring scars which both well define the character and is an unmistakable mark impossible to get rid-off. Instead of being a curse about which trying to get further away, Organismos' second full length album "Manejos Invisibles", has unveiled a neat unpolished metallic gem abruptly but coherently crafted, building bridges between the cities of Medellín and Antioquía where its members are located and come from. Blending the unbelievable violence of the South American underground sound while allowing the interference of certain and nailed experimental licences, it could shock the listener and results a juxtaposition difficult to believe or understand, but which with truly ends up assembling completely. Determined about being risky and challenging without refusing to voice rude and disconcerting, the philosophical and metaphysical lyrical work of this apocalyptic compendium, spites out a hopeless diatribe which stresses the overall decadent ambience of these 10 exalted tunes. As a final side note, is it necessary to add that the guitar player known as La Bruja, accomplishes on his resume having being part of the legendary Parabellum and Herpes? And the same thing goes for Alberto Correa (bass) and Alexis Vélez (vocals and drums) who were part of seminal outfit Ataque de Sonido. These certainly would be appetizing selling points but refering to an album which stands by itself proving it's soundness, it's a mere anecdotal fact since the quality of the music is what counts and outstands on this opus indisputably.

MSUO - 23 MORBUS CHRON - Sleepers In The Rift LP
MORBUS CHRON Psyched, freaked out, totally gone berserk and demented by a compulsion to death metal the old most rotten way or, on the other hand, due to a massive exposure to zombified terror... Does it really matter when the harm is done and so, the resulting fucked up mind tends to perform on a deviant artistically interpretation, the aspirations and realizations of the macabre and of the most intolerable pain ever imagined? Could things even get any worse (or better, depends...) when the idyll with the forbidden is based on a maniacal obsession that gravitates around the deeds and (piece)works of a certain gang of wrongdoers adequately know as Autopsy? Here's where fiction and reality bounds are diffused, where the sweat, the tears, the blood and the urine are a finest blended cocktail, shaken by the fears and the convulsion which only the certainty of an imminent terrible death, can do no wrong.

MSUO - 026 - EXANTHEMA/CHRONIC DECAY - Split MLP
CHRONIC DECAY One of the rarest and most sought-after rarities of the classic Swedish death metal heydays, is finally available again and released on vinyl for the first time ever. A dedicated edition to this split originally unleashed back in 1993 by Studiofrämjandet only on CD, with a much more fitting new cover and stunning artwork by Guillem el Muro. This mini LP shows two different sides of the coin, filling an essential gap to understand and have a complementary perspective of the aforementioned scene by two bands that didn't reach a high status but which, for sure and independently, enriched the spectrum of the genre and of its native school with their own ideas. None of them sounded like Sunlight clones: in both cases due of their respective productions and also, because the way they faced the style on their compositions and their respective particularities as authors. Exanthema were reasonably brutal for their time and varied on the two songs presented here, with almost imperceptible thrash hints and skin crawling unreal deep guttural vocals. On the other hand, Chronic Decay are as aggressive on their three tunes as on their album, with that  punk/core hateful approach that worked so well for them and that made them unique and recognizable almost instantly. An emphatic shared piece of wax, to be served raw, uncut and cold, in the early nineties tradition.

MSUO - 19 GOREPHILIA - Ascend To Chaos MLP
GOREPHILIA The epitome of self phagocytized Death Metal cannibalism or the dilemma of being a stubborn running aground the swamps of thickest riffs and un-fondest terrifying experiences. Not a fancy nor easy listening exercise at all, but a metastatic musical grower is what Gorephilia are and come up with on a severe offering accurately baptized as "Ascended to Chaos". The ugly apparent disconcert of their babelic craziness is the actual surrender to a form of constructing songs that aren't intented to be hookers at first sight, but endowed props of a grim scenario that has to and deserves being contemplated with perspective and a certain dose of endeavour. A demostration of utter remorseless will for those who dare to look with defiant and respectful aim to the bottomless eyes of demise itself, aware of its dangers within and seduced by the drugged atraction that only the forbidden, vile and corrupted arise with untold passion in the heart of man.

MSUO - 21 CORPSESSED - The Dagger and the Chalice LP
CORPSESSED Imagine a stream of obscurity, a closed corridor of unbreathable air due to an oppressive atmosphere, a soulless void of despair and agony, an abominable vision of shapeless horrors and deepest terrors, as a web of rivers flowing into an estuary of unspeakable filth and smut. Backers of a multi layered death asphyxiating death metal, Corpsessed not only craft songs admitting their vast amount of influences which run between the shores of Finland's most growling and booming legends, the intensity and distorted massive sound of the Swedish school among hints of other deeds , but also a random yet consistent wall of doomy passages and abrasive grinding outbursts, poisoned with lacerating blast-beats echoes. Far away from being a senseless cut and paste hotchpotch, "The Dagger and the Chalice" is one of those exceptional rarities where polyglot metal of death serves its purpose without failing, betraying nor mocking the entity of such a style.

NECROWRETCH Dead drunk of gore and intoxicated by a severe addiction to putridness, it's not strange al all that this dead glorifying French trio, have inflicted some serious gruesome acts of depravity and woke the restless ones up from their miasma flooded graves with "Putrefactive Infestion". Far away from trying to reinvent the wheel, Necrowretch have not yet quench their thirst for blood and filth, after having devoured with avid full hands of the sources of Autopsy, Repugnant and other elmentary primitive death metal outlaws. Four short but hurting songs of brimming dirt, rottenness and obscenity that despite of being a total massacre, will make the surviving listeners to ask for a more extensive and hard hitting punishment . The fucked up and blow up stench of the productions puts the triple rated XXX on a distorted musical effort which won't that easily forgotten, no matter how many bands around try (and fail) to achive.

MSUO-17 ATARAXY - Curse Of The Requiem Mass MLP
ATARAXY "Curse OF The Requiem Mass" is the demonstration than the age is not a determiner factor at the time of doing quality death metal. Listening to these six relentless tunes with a marked weakness for hammering mid tempos, they probably will make everybody think that the musicians involved on Ataraxy should be in their mid-late thirties: that they lived, breathed and heart beaten at once in the old good days of the tape trading movement and massive flyers campaigns via snail mail. But the truth is that the youngsters behind this name, have shown being gifted with an amazing eerie closeness to the real deal and know-how of writing and playing this style on its (probably) more challenging and pounding way. If their demo "Rotten Shit" helped them out to being put on the map and showed some intentional and potential stuff worth of being checked out, this mini album consolidates them as an outfit with many things to say, despite of their clear influences, heavily rooted on deities like and Morgoth, Autopsy, the Swedish scene and, specially, Asphyx. A release which is by decree death certificate by itself, but which has gained a certain plus of uniqueness thanks to the production of Javier Felez at his Moontower Studios, whom has teamed up, fitted and got the very best out of these promising putrid gang

Miasmal With such a debut demo and a more than consistent follow up in form of a 7" EP, Miasmal first's album couldn't be another mere recreational yet well oiled and full fuelled death metal retrospective killing machine, but a primordial axis when it comes to defend the legitimacy of the classical Swedish sound, and of the Stockholm school in particular. The fourth piece's self titled LP , not only compiles and demonstrates their skills and competence as coagulated inkers of mordant down tuned songs (as already shown on their previous musical greeting cards) but as a matter of fact it proves that far away from being stuck in the fictional weakness of conformism and resting on their own gained laurels, they've worked hard and with dedication instead of remaining dormant. They have unquestionably found the equilibrium and the formula to grow in every sense and bring a heavy as fuck slab of obscure wax, the way everybody expected and wished form them and which has surpassed by far any expectations.

KRYPTS EP

Kryps have returned, and no amount of warnings could save any nearby lifeforms from the lethal weapon that is this 7". Pure heaviness, even more brutal vocals harking to the days of Rottrevore and Disembowelment and pure riff malevolence. Streaks of dark and eerie melody emerge from under the wall of sonic brutality. The guitars have got even heavier, and the bass sound carries the weight of a ton's worth of dead hippos and about as much filth. This literally drips old-school evil in a way that has to be heard to be believed. The songs remains suffocating in delivery and unrepentant in their simplicity, yet epic and grandiose in scope. Make no mistake, this is the sound of death done right, and it only makes us wonder where they can take things next.

MSUO-05 CHRONIC DECAY - "Justify Your Existance" LP
MSUO

Recorded back in ’94, only now excavated from the crypts, Justify Your Existence is a masterpiece of Swedish Death Metal in the ancient tradition. Containing 14 unreleased tracks of raging hatred, this LP builds upon the legacy of their Ecstasy In Pain EP [1990] and split with Exanthema [1993], not to mention an appearance on the seminal CBR Records Projections Of A Stained Mind LP [1990] alongside titans Mayhem, Nirvana 2002 and Merciless. With members going on to form legendary rawpunk acts Dischange and Meanwhile, this LP documents a very different approach. Anger, despair, and hateful desperation; imagine if you will the effortless poise of Dismember colliding with the brutal threat of early Sepultura, all combined with the violent fury of Napalm Death. Chronic Decay takes the tired clichés of death/thrash, injecting the corpse with a mercurial holocaust of merciless intent. Raise the dead, raise your fist!

Recalling none other than the elders of Swedish Death Metal, this debut EP introduces the crushing might of Miasmal. Following their exceptionally well-received 2008 demo (reissued on 12” through Nuclear War Now!/Detest Records), this highly anticipated release sees the band further develop their core sound. One listen and you’re left wondering how it took until 2010 for the unprecedented mastery of Entombed to meet the gatecrash-the-entrance-to-hell dynamics of early Disfear. A level of supreme confidence crashes through these songs with an audacious disregard for genre orthodoxy; simplicity and complexity duel for the upper hand in a display of rotten regal pride. If you appreciate some brains beside the guts on your plate, you need to hear this… WORSHIP THE MONARCHAL ROT.

MSUO-03 KRYPTS - "Open The Crypt" MLP
KRYPTS

From the ruins of an old band Otso (drums) and Antti (bass/vocals) decided to reanimate their idea of making a death metal band. In autumn 2008, after changing some ideas and digging up some old riffs from the grave, KRYPTS was born. After finishing a few songs, the band started to look for a guitarist for the band rehearsals. Ville, an old friend of Otso and Antti, felt as a good choice. So the first line-up was complete and rehearsals could begun in the spring 2009.

After a few months of rotting in the practice place, recording of their first demo begun. 'Open the Crypt' cd-r was released first of June 2009. It is a 24 minute piece of death metal inspired by the old gods. Lead-guitar was taken care by Otso, because the band was still missing the lead guitarist. The demo received great feedback world wide and the first print was sold out in one month. The name started to spread, and soon after the demo was released, it got to the hands of Detest Records.

Detest Records offered a 7” deal for the band, and after thinking a while, KRYPTS decided to sign. Everything was now in order except the lead-guitarist. The band searched for weeks, and finally a potential guitarist Topi asked if he could fill the missing spot. The line-up was complete and things started to roll. The final copies of ‘Open The Crypt’ second press were sold out from the band, and Jerry from Detest Records came up with an idea of re-releasing the demo as a 12” vinyl version in co-operation with Me Saco Un Ojo Records. This was nothing but good news.

The band is now looking forward to the year 2010, which comes up with at least two KRYPTS releases and hopefully lots of gigs.

MSUO-02 UNDERGANG - "Indhentet af Døden" LP
UNDERGANG

In the year of 2008 the meaning of brutality was redefined as UNDERGANG arose from the sewers of the Copenhagen underground. Consisting of members who had all formerly been active music wise within the hardcore punk scene the band set out to crush, kill and destroy everything on their way with a ferocious musical blend of down-tuned sludge, goresoaked grinding, ultraviolent bomb blasts and just straight forward old school death metal parts mixed all together in a lethal cocktail definitely not for the weak of heart. Drawing on inspiration from death metal legends such as Autopsy, Suffocation, Carcass, Death and Morbid Angel the unholy gang of three known as UNDERGANG intended to create their own unique brand of raw death metal with a sound as thick and punishing as a brick wall that repeatedly keeps on crashing down on you. And with the recording of the tracks that makes up the debut LP-release entitled “Indhentet af Døden” (“Caught by Death”) UNDERGANG definitely succeeded in doing just that: These recordings are as dark as your worst nightmare and as cutting as your sharpest knife, bound to make your ears bleed and your soul shrink as they hammer you into oblivion. Besides from gracing the recording studio with their manly presence UNDERGANG has also participated in a handful of demon-worshipping black masses known as gigs and in this way proved that the band for sure can deliver a pulverising display of mind-bending sonic madness convincing reviewers to put together sentences as: “Without a doubt the best band of the evening”, “Masterfully performed” and “A fantastic band that is sure to set the world aflame”… And this is just what Torturdöd (Axe & guttural mutilation), Ondsind (Bestial roar of the abyss) and Dödshjælp (Pulse of death & desecration) will continue to do: Spreading their version of the soundtrack to the downfall of a world that never really realized what actually hit it before it was too late – so in order to conclude: You had better start running or prepare yourself for the slaughter…

MSUO-01 STENCH OF DECAY - "Where death and..." MLP
STENCH

In 2004 two Finnish lads, namely Rami Simelius and Tommi Sookari, had an idea to create a death metal band. Two more guys were to be added to the line-up and the band was complete. Ville Virtanen was asked to join in as the 2nd guitarist and Jesse Toivonen as the drummer. Tommi took care of the bass lines/vocal duties and Rami was the lead guitarist/song writer.

The band begun writing songs and rehearsing at the local youth center and at some point Jussi Rajala joined SoD to take care of the vocal duties. In the Fall of 2005, the band entered the studio and the result was a demo with 4 fast and furious songs. Musicwise the demo leaned in American style of Death metal, yet there were hints of old Finnish death metal to be found.

After the first demo was unleashed, SoD concentrated on gigs. Several gigs with several bands were done during the period between 2006 and 2007. Some of the highlights from that time were definitely the gigs with Zemial and Nunslaughter. Suddenly SoD lapsed into a slumber, which lasted almost a year. No new songs were written, no reahealsals took place and no gigs were done during that time.

At some point in 2008 SoD was wakened from its slumber. New material was composed and the rehearsing could begin. In early 2009 the band entered the studio once again and the second demo "Where Death and Decay Reign" saw the light of day. WDaDR was released on tape by Belgian Detest Records. The demo included 3 new songs and a cover song of almighty Abhorrence, namely Vulgar Necrolatry. SoD's style had changed a bit, yet WDaDR could easily be categorized as Death Metal. The songs have more melodies and the pace is lower than before. In comparison to the earlier recording, WDaDR is atmospheric and the compositions are more straight forward style.

And what lies in the future for SoD? A 7" EP is on the works and it shall be released via Detest Records in continuum of a successful cooperation.A couple of participations in Death metal compilations has been discussed, but we'll see if those compilations ever see the light of day. Among song writing, SoD would be happy to rise on stage more often since those occations have been rather rare.

MSUO-20 FUIL NA SEANCHOILLE LP
FNAS Raw, hypnotic, transcendental black metal from Ireland, this 12” collects two out-of-print demos from Fuil Na Seanchoille (“Blood Of The Old Forest” in Gaelic). Remastered for vinyl with original artwork by Jake Kobrin, 2008’s “Demo MMVIII” and 2009’s “Bitter Dusk Of Futures Past” represent the horror, atrocity and beauty of Ireland’s genocidal history. A ritualistic howl far removed from the pallid farce of so-called ‘Pagan BM’, F.N.S. convey a psychedelic bestialism amidst sinister occultic guitar spirals, crushing distorted bass and hideous abyssal roars of defiance. Old school black metal in the vein of BEHERIT, VON and DARKTHRONE with a touch of ULVER, this is complex simplicity, loss and spite, the brutal futility, the vicious desolation of being in collision with fleeting moments of reality. Dichotomies, contradictions and opposites reflecting the dual nature of humanity: the beast vs. transcendent man.
